World Hunger, Population and Food Supplies

An introduction to the problem of world hunger and possible solutions to it. World demand, supply, and distribution of food. Alternatives for leveling off world food demand, increasing the supply of food, and improving its distribution. Environmental limitations to increasing world food production.
This course is specifically designed to cover the issue of Hunger, Food
Security and Malnutrition without any prerequisites. If you
have taken courses in economics or nutrition you might get more out of this
class, but you need not have taken any of
these courses. We will follow the text book that was written for this class with
a few references to more current material.
This is a copy of last years (Fall, 2007) syllabus. The class will follow this format with very few changes.
